Privacy

The short version

You can run a site report without giving us anything about yourself. We ask for an email only when you want the report sent to you or you contact us. We do not sell anything to anyone, and we do not run advertising trackers.

When you run a site report

We store the web address you entered and the results of the checks we ran against it — load times, whether the security certificate is valid, whether a contact form appears to work, and similar technical facts about that website. Those are facts about a public web page, not about you.

To stop the tool being abused we limit how many reports can be run from one internet connection per hour. To do that we take your IP address, combine it with a secret value, and run it through a one-way hash. Only the hash is stored, and it cannot be turned back into your address. The counter is discarded after an hour.

Report pages are reachable by anyone with the link, and the link contains a long random id. They are marked so search engines do not index them. If you would rather yours was deleted, email us and we will remove it.

When you contact us

If you send a message or ask for a copy of a report, we store what you gave us: your name, email address, phone number if you supplied one, your website, and your message. We use it to reply to you and to do the work. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the companies listed below.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you across websites. Nothing it collects identifies an individual, which is also why this site has no cookie banner: there is nothing to ask you to consent to.

Who else handles your data

• Google Firebase — hosting and the database where reports and messages are stored.
• Google PageSpeed Insights — measures how fast the website you submitted loads.
• Anthropic — writes the plain-English summary on a report from the check results. Your contact details are never sent.
• Plausible Analytics — page view counts.

How long we keep things

Reports are kept so the link you were sent keeps working. Enquiries and customer records are kept while we might reasonably need them for the work or for our own records. Ask us to delete either and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Children

This is a service for businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Asking us to delete something

Email hello@fixdfw.com and tell us what you want removed. You do not need to give a reason.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Fix DFW is operated from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States.
